Becky was the sweetest person. Her memorial service today was such a testament to her life, as a friend, wife, mother and granddaughter. Phil and Paula, you both did a fabulous job today with your remarks!!
Attending a Bobbi Akerman Dance Studio recital my older sister was in, I saw a young girl, my age, in the early part of the recital, for the younger dancers. I grabbed my mother's program to find the name of this stunning girl I saw on the stage. Her name was Becky Stuman. She did not attend the same elementary school I did, but I never forgot her or her name. Years later, we entered high school at the same time in the same place. We were never anything more than casual friends, but I never forgot that first encounter. We graduated and like almost all of my classmates never to be seen again.
However, eight or nine years after graduation from Banks, a young lady applied for an office job at the auto dealership where I had the good fortune to be the office manager. It was Becky. I told my boss, we don't need an application or interview with this one. She's hired! He never questioned me, she got the job, and was great. I left for another opportunity after we worked together for a few years and never saw or heard anything from or about her until her passing.
It took me two tries at this, and I hope I got it right. Becky was a very special person and my memories of her from just past toddler age to grown woman in the work force will never fade.
This is some pretty stong stuff, I think. The fact that we were never romantically involved shows just how much good sense she had.

Johnny, Becky would've been flattered to read your comments! She was very special to me all these years since high school. I'm certainly missing her!
